Mack C. Chase was born on April 29th, 1931 the 4th of 9 children to Edgar and Marie Chase. Upon graduation he served in the Army stationed in Korea from 1951 to 1953. In the early years Mack worked on pulling units with Chase Well Service and in 1979 formed Marbob Energy with John R. Gray. In 1992 Mack formed Mack Energy Corporation an oil and gas production operating company. Mack and his wife Marilyn were married for 63 years before her passing in December, 2016. They have sons Robert and Richard, daughter Gerene with 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Mack C. Chase and his sons also own and operate Chase Farms based in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and Wyoming. Over the years Mack has expanded his operations to include, charter air service, insurance, oil field supplies, restaurant healthcare and automotive.
Through the years Mack has been recognized by many organizations for his generosity in supporting many worthwhile projects including receiving the Artesia Public Schools Lifetime Achievement Award for his support and generosity to the school district. Each year Mack personally selects 2 high school seniors annually to be the recipient of a $20,000 scholarship based on academic and athletic
In 2007 Mack struck a deal with AHS graduates from the class of 2007 committing over $1.5 million dollars over a 4 year period to send them to college and obtain a college education and degree. Mack’s goal through this program was to have 135 kids graduate from college and become our future leaders. Since 2007 Mack has also funded the AHS classes of 2008 and 2009 committing an additional $2.8 million dollars over a 4 year period for the scholarships. The youth of Artesia are special to Mack and he wants them to have more opportunities than he had growing up. It takes caring people to make things happen and Mack C.
